Help Phone dials 911 while locked in my pocket

Three times in the past week my phone has called 911 while sitting locked in my pocket. Every time the local police call me back asking if I'm in trouble - I need to stop this before they start treating me as a public nuisance!

Any thoughts as to why this is happening?

I had that happen once with a Samsung, but not an S5. I heard a China Mobile recorded message telling that 911 was the wrong number for emergencies. Phone was locked in my pocket. What I think happened, a button must have got pushed, and then phone somehow got to the emergency dialler and called 911. I just put it down to fluke.

In a pocket, that's very near your skin and so could operate the touch screen. Buttons can inadvertently be operated when a phone is in a pocket which turns the screen on. Have you got the phone in a wallet type case that covers the screen when not using it, or is the screen uncovered in your pocket?

I know the S4 comes with a kind of folding wallet type thing that covers the screen, it's part of the back. Has a hole in it so can still see the clock. Is the S5 the same?

There is a setting for Emergency Notifications if you are in trouble.
maybe that got activated and linked to the Home Key?

I have mine disabled.

The S5 doesn't come with a case (at least mine didn't). I just ordered one. And emergency mode is off.
