Phone freezes I take the battery out. Comes on and widgets are gone

I own a huawei u8652. It's AT&T but been rooted for str8 talk. My problem is the phone acts super slow and it freezes at least twice a day. I try and turn it off but it will still freeze as it's shutting down. I take the battery out to turn it off. Than I turn it back on with my widgets gne....What's up?
