Phone freezing while trying....

My phone keeps freezing when trying to delete text messages. I have to pull the battery out, turn it on, and the text messages I selected to be deleted are still there. Plus all my settings (i.e. lock code, screen brightness, etc.) are changed.

If it matters, I turned off the HTC Sense since it was making my phone run horribly.

Anyone have a similar problem or know how to fix it?

And now that it's reopened, it won't send text messages and it force closes.
