Phone Icon Brings up Contact List

Whe I press the Phone icon on my G2x with Launcher Pro Plus, the contacts list comes up, not the Phone to manually dial. I thought pressing the Phone Icon brings up the phone. I already have an icon that brings up the contact list - Contacts. Why do I need two applications that came with the phone to open the same darn thing?
Any ideas?

Reason is simple. You have a third party launcher installed and used. Try to revert back to Android default launcher and see if it behaves the same.

Don't you have tabs for Keypad | Logs | Favorites | Contacts along the top that can be selected? Just press Keypad and I believe that the setting will be remembered.

Check the settings of your dialler. You may have it set to open with the contacts list.

Otherwise try a long press on the launcher icon and replace it with a new link to the dialler.

Or download Any Cut (from Jeff Hamilton) from the play store, make a new shortcut, tap "activity," and choose "Dialler."

This makes a shortcut that always fires up the dialpad tab of the dialler, no matter what tab you were in when you last used it.
