Newest software update , now UI system, and many other apps and systems closing / crashing. Seems to be caused by one app in particular. As soon as I open it stuff shuts off and crashes so fast I can't keep track of it all

Hi thanks, yes I did the clear cache already. There is an app called Uniden Siren. Allows me to listen to and control my police scanner via my phone. It was flawless until this update. I have a Verizon phone bought new from the Verizon store. Any software changes have always been OTA directly from the system update selection in the phone. My gut feeling is that the Siren App needs work due to the fact that that's the only app stirring up problems. Please let me know if there is anything in particular you would like me to include, I am NOT very phone savy.
Confuses me that a user installed app can make the system unstable, but that Samsung for you. While it may run well on the X4, it may be interfering with the Samsung Experience 9... which controls every aspect of the device. I'm not sure how or why: but that's why the developers are paid to develop.
That app is a bit different than Siren. Broadcastify lets you listen to scanners streamed by others, where the siren app lets you listen to your own scanner.John, have you looked at Broadcastify? It provides instant access to thousands of police and fire scanners, emergency responder feeds, etc. Apparently there's a free app for it as well.

That they are with Siren.uniden is not the same company they used to be back in the day, and i suspect they are the culprit in not updating their app. Oreo is an entirely new beast.
Oh, and that's why @nitetrain505 is here. We were chatting about Oreo OTA problems in a Siren thread on RadioReference and I didn't want to derail that thread.not to derail this thread
