phone locked with forgotten emailemailadress

We have a U8150-D as a spare phone.
One of the kids set up the phone when we bought it with a email that he got from gmail.com.

The email adress is used only for the purpose of this phone, it is not used for anything else.

The thing is that we have managed to forget the email adress so now the phone is locked...
Even with other SIM cards the phone is locked with the forgotten gmail adress.

Is there a way we can reboot or restart/ reformat/ whatever the phone and kind of start over again?

Hi rogerroger, can you dial in with the phone? If so, try this to see if it's locked.
Dial *#*#2846579#*#*
Select Project Menu
Select 5. Network Setting
Select 4. SIM card lock state query.

It will display whether SIM card lock is active or not. Neil.

Thanks andy:
When I start the phone I have to enter SIM code, the next that happens is that i get the message "phone locked due to too many "pattern" errors, please enter google mail to unlock the phone" (translated from norwegian). I have tried to enter the code you mentioned in the EMERGENCY CALL option that is working, but nothing happens.
- I have tried the SIM card in another phone and it worked fine, so it is the phone that is locked..
Do you have any other suggestion??

Hi rogerroger, I would suggest that you visit the Huawei web site and search and locate and Download the FAQ's manual.
I'm looking at my hardcopy now and Section 2.9 Unlock Pattern may be what you need to investigate. Section 2.9.2 How many wrong lock patterns will lock the phone permanently.
If you lose the screen lock password, the phone will be permanently locked and unusable. You can download U8150 version software from the Huawei Website, (Support - Huawei Device Co., Ltd..) to upgrade your phone.
Please refer to 2.1 Force upgrade.

This is my interpretation of what you are describing as your fault. Hope this helps. Neil.:)
ps. Because I'm new to Android, I took the time to search and locate the Huawei U8150 Smart Phone User Manual and the FAQ Manual and Downloaded them (Pdf) and printed them. I personally find it easier to follow the manuals for diagnosis and how to operate. The useless little piece of paper supplied with the phone contained little of help for a new user to Android.
