Phone looses network due to many SMS'es

I got A very annoying problem, when receiving a lot of SMS messages from an automated alarm system. Eventuelly the phone losses the mobile network ad I get a message like this: (my message is in danish)

"Your SIM card does not allow connection to this network"

The solution is to reboot the phone - when I find out.

My question is, does anyone else experience this. Is it an Android issue or with the mobile operator?

We have seen this on 3 Phones
Xperia Pro with Android 2.3
Nexus 4 with 4.3
HTC One x with 4.2

If it's happening on multiple phones with different Android releases, odds are it's your mobile carrier and not the OS/Phone.

How frequent are these messages?

We got 73 messages within 2 hours. But they came in bulks with 5-10 at a time.

We are trying to convince the operator to start a case.
