Help Phone music app disconnecting from chromecast

Since the last few Android updates I've noticed that my phone disconnects from the chromecast when I'm playing music, using the standard music app on my xperia z5. It disconnects after the screen times out.

The only way I've found to stop this happening is to stop the screen from timing out and turning the screen brightness down to minimum.

Are there any other settings that can be accessed which will allow the phone to stop disconnecting from the chromecast upon screen timeout?

I don't think the phone is disconnecting from the router as I will still receive Whatsapp, Viber etc. messages when the phone is lying idle.

Actually, any app I've tried so far that has chromecast option the same thing happens. There was one called N7 that worked for a while along with an app called Toaster Cast. But then Toaster Cast stopped working
