Help Phone not detecting sim card and lost IMEI

Hi there.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace (unlocked) being used with an Orange (EE) sim card and all of a sudden it won't make calls/texts or receive them. When I try to make a call it comes up with "call ended" straight away. I have tried the Sim card in another phone and that seems to be working ok. When you try and call the number you get the voice message "calls cannot connect to this phone" and then it just goes direct to voicemail.

Also, this morning I've noticed that looking at the phone status it says "mobile network state - disconnected" and the IMEI number is "unknown".

We haven't tried to flash or root or anything like that, it's just happened overnight.

Can you help?

The phone is about 12 months old and was from the Carphone Warehouse.

IMEI loss is quite a big problem, more so because there isn't a way to fix it unless you have a backup of it. Usually people suffer IMEI loss due to some wrong flashing or software crashes, but they are all rooted and you on the other hand are a simple stock user.
You should take it to the service centre, maybe they can help.

As above.Nip down to Carphone Warehouse. They are open til 1600 hrs on Sunday around here.
