Lurker
i use a spice stellar mi 439 cellphone which runs on the android 4.4.2 platform. my phone is however not recognised by my pc. any advice?

I still would try the link Pugs1957 gave you,The driver pack still should cover the Spice Stellar 439 PC Suite and USB Driver.
Try it,It can't hurt.

Sorry, my mistake there's a 439 on there but not an mi-439. What operating system do you have on your PC? Just read that your phone should have come with a CD. Do you have this?

When you connect the phone to your PC, does your PC search for drivers?

No, my PC does not react at all when the phone is connected to it. It does charge the phone however. I have connected other phones and tablets to it, and it is able to recognize them just fine. By the way I don't use a PC but a
Asus X550CA-XX545D Laptop, if it helps in any way.

Have you tried to add the phone through device manager? I use Win 7 and the procedure is slightly different. Do you see a device with a yellow triangle alongside? If not, it's not a case of no drivers, its a case of not being seen at all so I would try another lead. If you can see the yellow triangle, clock on it and follow the onscreen messages and get it to do a web search for drivers

When You connect Your phone , see if there is message in the notification bar for possible types of connections - some phones do not automatically connect and want a confirmation. See also if the "USB debugging mode" is switched on in the Developer options .

there is absolutely no reaction of any sort when i attach the phone to the PC. not even in the notification bar
