Phone not seeing WAV format in the stock app.

Question...when I rip a CD in WAV format my V20 doesn't see it through the stock LG music app. If its ripped as a mp3 then it's seen and read. I have to play it track by track through the File Manager. Anyone know why? And would a player like Black Player solve that?

Poweramp is one solution. I gave up on WAV a long while ago, to Microsoft-centric.
.mp3 seems to be universal through all media players.
