Help Phone plugged in and charging, but battery slowly draining

I have a Galaxy S3 i9305, I have it plugged in and it says it's charging, but it seems to be slowly loogin battery power. I've had it plugged in all morning and in 3 hours I've seen the battery go from 95% to 93%. I am using my phone while it is plugged in (mostly listening to music, using the internet, and replying to occasional emails). Could that be the problem? If not any ideas, as to why the battery is slowly draining even though it is charging?

Thanks.

If the battery reaches 100%, but remains plugged in, most android devices allow if to discharge a little then when it hits another %, charge again. What those % are on the s3 I'm not sure. 95 to 93 doesn't really give much to go on.

It would be interesting to see how much it drops though or even if you unplug and replug it if it starts going back up.

i had a similar issue although it was much worse that what u had i had plugged in my phone to charge at 26% after abt 8 hrs it had fallen to 16%, turned out to be some issue with my os i tried a different charger which worked. Did i a factory reset which solved the issue.

It's been plugged in all day (6 hours so far), I unplugged it for about 10 minutes when I left my desk. and right now the battery is at 68%. I'm going to try a different charger, but I don't really want to do a factory reset (if I can avoid it), because my phone is rooted and I've removed a lot of the factory default apps.

A factory reset won't return removed apps. All it does is delete the settings for the existing apps and user apps.
