phone reception

How is the NEW S5 phone reception in areas where there is a week signal? I have a S3 and it is almost useless in a area with week signal so have they improved this part of the phone. I am due for a upgrade in a few months and starting my research.

Definitely improved in my experiences. My wife and I both went from S3's to S5's. Normally she leaves her phone in her desk at work and checks it a couple times a day. With the s3, her battery never made it through her work day. Same conditions with the S5 and she has 75-80% battery. I also have noticed in my office where my S3 would not bring up web pages, the S5 works very well.

I noticed right away that the S5 will work in weaker areas than my 'S' Fascinate will.

Battery life is at least double of the 'S' model.

I'd say improved. I go into this building that is all metal that is notorious for swallowing signals. Lots of folks have to go outside to use their cellphones. While the S5 isn't beaming with signal in the metal building, I still get more signal than others and don't have to go outside to use the phone. Which is more than other folks get.

Improved at my home. I had an S3 still do and love it. Had a metal roof installed on my home lost signal strength on the S3. In my house where I would roam a lot or get one bar, now with the S5 get 4 bars or so, huge difference.

My S5 has a much weaker signal than any other phone I've ever had. Although, this is my first Samsung, and I have had 3 people tell me Samsung was never known for the radios in their phones.
