I have an s6 I done a factory data reset yesterday after replacing the battery. Now when using foxfi phone shutdowns on it's own regardless if it's plugged in or not. And now it'll keep connecting and disconnecting to my laptop. It'll load bing and Google home pages and Facebook but won't load any other sites. I've tried restarting the phone powering it off wipe system cache from recovery mode. Uninstalled the foxfi app restarted the phone and installed foxfi didn't help with connection issue. I've done everything I can think of besides another factory data reset. Anyone have a idea what else it could be?

I would do another factory reset. It's possible your memory chip has gone bad, just like a hard drive can go bad.

I hope someone else has a better solution for you.

You seem to be the first person to try and help it was doing fine until yesterday I don't know if it's the battery or the factory data reset I did. But foxfi was working great until yesterday not powering off phone or anything. I'll try the reset again hopefully it'll fix the issues.

I downloaded pdanet+ it works without any issues I guess Verizon done something to make foxfi not work right now only thing about pdanet it won't power my ps4. So guess I'll have to finally get wifi instead of depending on my phone guess I can't complain foxfi worked for almost 10 years for only $7.95. Too bad I have great service where I live now a tower not even half a mile away I used to could see it from my front porch until overgrowth took over I was getting speeds fast enough to run 4k videos until this happened.

Looking at its Play Store page, the FoxFi app has not been updated since Dec. 2017, apparently it's been abandoned so it's not surprising it is becoming gradually less and less able to function. The cellular networks our carriers are based on do progress at a snail's pace, but continuously.

Which carrier do you use? A lot of carriers now include hotspotting as a free service (with prerequisites). Any chance you switching carriers is doable?
Just as examples:
T-Mobile

AT&T

Verizon

Also, your Galaxy S6 is eight years old, archaic as far as smartphones. It's old and out-of-date.

That could also be a factor when it involves online interactivity.

I have Verizon I replaced the battery Sunday morning done a factory data reset afterwards foxfi stopped working right after it was working just fine before. So I'm guessing Verizon finally figured out a way to shut the app down after all these years I've used it almost 10 years without much issues. So I'm going to have to finally get home internet/wifi and probably go with straight talk instead I'm paying almost $100 a month with Verizon just for my phone service.
