Phone suggestions for kid who needs band 12?

JAJameson2010

We are switching BFs son onto our phone plan with t-mobile. He does need band 12 because of where he lives. Any phone suggestions?

Looking for an older model. Durable is a plus, but we can always get a case for that. Any suggestions?

Not sure if a t-mobile branded device might be easier for child monitoring stuff? Or will it function the same as an unlocked phone?

Hoping to spend a good chunk less than $300, but I'm having trouble finding the b12 requirement.

We are both using Nexus 6s, but the kid probably doesn't need anything that big!

Any help would be very appreciated!

A couple BTWs:
Most,if not all new-ish AT&T phones should do just fine, but, there's a couple things to consider should you go this route:
1) WI-FI Calling may or may not work, wouldn't hurt to ask around depending on model.
2) If you're concerned about receiving Android O/S updates, you'll need an active AT&T SIM Card to get the update pushed to the phone. I've also been down this road & any savings on a sale were squandered getting the update by having to purchase a months worth of service................

LG G Stylo

Solid phone w/budget price

Just got Marshmallow 6.0

T-mobile's is the "good" version (Boost version has inferior specs)
