Phone Trading

Hi, I'm new here but I could not find anything in the search to answer my question so I figured I would just go ahead and ask you guys. I really dislike my galaxy s6 edge, so I have made a craigslist post to look around and see if people would like to trade phones with me. I have gotten a few responses, and I am just wondering now, is it okay to just swap phones with someone, and what all do I have to do to trade it. My phone is still under contract, so I need to know what all steps I need to take to go through with this.

www.swappa.com is a good place to put it, and a good place to buy from.

the moderators try to validate that each phone offered is legal.

For buying a used phone meet your seller at the phone store and have them verify it's not stolen. Then have the phone transferred into your name while the seller is still there, after that they can't report it stolen.

Trading might be tricky if you both are under contract, see what the store says.

I would imagine if your phone is still under contract you'd have to pay it off before your carrier would let you do anything with it.

Verizon says the contract must be Paid Off before they will allow it to be registered to any one else.

I asked them on this a while back.
