phone turns on and off non stop

my phone is not usable. when i put the battery in the phone turns on, gets half way through start up and then turns off. Following that, the phone just vibrates in short bursts as it is turning on, off, on, off, on, off, on, off.

Hello and welcome to AndroidForums.com. You are in what is known as a boot loop. This usually occurs from rooting and flashing roms, but can also happen from corrupted internal memory. If you are rooted and were flashing roms, you should be able to reflash a stable build to correct the issue from recovery. If you are not rooted and it is under warranty or you have insurance on the phone, I would get it replaced.
