Help phone voice volume/quality

My ace seems to be lacking in the audio volume of calls.

The ringer is loud enough, sms notification loud enough, music etc. fine. When talking to people on the phone in both handset and speakerphone its very quiet. on handset 100% volume is about same as 30% on my old nokia, on speakerphone 80% is about same as 50% on the nokia, higher than 80% and its distorted too much. Also sound keeps cutting out during calls which doesnt happen on the nokia same network.

I downloaded an equalizer which was able to make all phone sounds much louder except one thing, calls, it had no effect on calls. Can call audio quality be improved with software?

Strange. Obv I can't tell if what is loud for me is loud for you but I haven't had a problem with that, unless there have been signal issues or the person I'm calling has lowered their call volume. Have you tried using the earpiece?

Try to press the "volume up" Button on the left during the call...but undoubtely the nokia is much louder during the calls

yes the volume up is how I controlled the volume already.

not tried the earpeice and I wont be using it normally but I guess I will test it to confirm if a speaker issue or not.

Right.

Speaker was the first thing to go on my old Tocco and I ended up having to use the ear piece before I replaced it. But through doing that I found a strange quirk whereby removing the ear piece mid-conversation could bring the speaker back to life with enhanced volume. Of course that's entirely anecdotal and not remotely scientific. ;)
