I tried turning on my phone and it almost completely turned on. But it then shorted out and the screen turned black. Now every time I try to turn it on it gets to the LG screen, lights up and then turnes off again. I have taken the battery out several times and switched the battery to a different phone. Now the phone that I switched the batteries with is doing the same thing. I need help......

It sounds like you have a battery problem. If you can get your hands on another battery that would probably be best bet as of right now. Also, was the battery fully charged to begin with? You could probably also try giving it full charge then try again.

I had the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S2 and it was a faulty battery. Definitely try a new one.

Good luck! :)

If the phone you moved the battery to is also doing it that is either a very nasty coincidence or it suggests that there's something wrong with the battery. If the problem persists after the battery is swapped back I've never heard of anything like that before.

If the problem is persisting after swapping, try leaving the batteries out of both handsets for a few minutes to let the semiconductors thoroughly discharge, then try again with the battery from the second handset. If we're lucky at least one of the phones will boot. I'd not use the battery from the original phone from what you've described.

If that doesn't fix it the best bet might be to register and ask the question in the main forum. That way more people will see it, which will increase the chances of somebody having an idea, and we can exchange information back and forth to aid diagnosis.

Good luck!
