Did you buy it new?
It's common for a new phone to use the battery and processor heavily while it settles in and updates itself, but it usually only would be warm. What type of overheating issues are you seeing?
 
So far it seems 2 b happening when I'm streaming. And the one time it paused the charging due 2 overheating n told me so.
 
Streaming will be exercising the cpu and network connections, which will generate heat. Charging also generates heat. So if you are doing both at once perhaps this is normal?
 
I do tend to stream SiriusXM while my phone sits on a QI charging cradle, but I've never noticed it getting anything but slightly warm. Certainly nothing that generated a warning or shut the phone down.
 
All of the above I used to think was normal with my §5 getting up to 107°F for years UNTIL a month ago I decided to let to one of my favorite third party applications go due to I always saw it on daily basis on the top list of apps battery usage even I didn't open or use it for weeks..turned out my phone hasn't gotten that hot any more..the highest it gets now is about 99°F with a very HEAVY usage..

Your culprit app could be one of the bloadware your phone came with..

If I were you I would look into it.

Yea seems 2 have stopped,tho it still gets a little warm when charging sometimes. I don't like how my screen's gotta stay lit 2 listen 2 utube music
 
Isn't that a problem with the design of the YouTube app, rather than a problem with the phone?

Of course the developer of the YouTube app is Google (so good luck with getting them to listen to complaints, though you are welcome to try).

If I were you I would immediately return the phone to where ever you got it and get something else, anything. The LG G6 was absolutely the worse phone I have ever owned.
 
Yea I gotta subscription n I used 2 listen all the time w my emerge j3. That's how I slept,put my music on n turn off my screen,all my tunes were in videos so..
