what do i need to download for my phone to show up on the computer to transfer photos and music. so i can keep then backedup on my computer.
 
You just need to connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable.

Alternatively, you could use something like AndroidSync which allows you to connect via WiFi, though it's not as easy to use as a USB cable.
