phonebook transfer to car radio

just got a new car radio, a sony mex-bt4100p. the s3 and radio pair. I then got a msg on the phone which is asking if ok to transfer the phonebook, and I click ok. it works great on incoming calls. when I tried to access the phonebook on the radio to make an outgoing call, I get a msg "no suprt". what additionally on the s3 might I have to do to get the phonebook to transfer?

It sounds as if it means that the radio can't place calls on an S3.
