I backup my computer data to 4gb and 8gb thumb drives at present.
I had this brilliant idea this morning: get the phone a larger micro SD card (go from 4 to 16gb), then use the spare capacity on the phone's micro SD card for daily data backups from computer.
I think I recall that Windows (XPpro) is only able to read the first partition on SD cards. IF accurate, I would create a directory for computer data on the SD card's first partition - the same one the Android OS uses. Would the Android OS be troubled to see a strange directory (my computer data) on its partition?
I'm investigating SD card memory class. I gather the higher the class (6, 10, etc.) the faster the data transfer rate from computer -> USB cable -> phone. But is there great difference from one class to the next?
Overall, does my idea sound good -- or more like a fool's folly?
Thanks,
Bob
