Is there an app that will take a png file (or .gif) with a transparent background, let you edit it and preserve the transparent background?

I use PSE on my PC, not a big problem with dropbox, but it would be nice if an app would do it.

For those that viewed this but had no answer... I found an app that seems to work: Canvas for Android | AppBrain.com

Really nice "paint"/editing app. My battery died as I was trying it (was on 3% after I downloaded it), so not sure what file type it saves as. But background can be saved as transparent. Great developer, responded to my email within 3 minutes! Takes a bit to figure out which buttons do what, but all necessary functions are there.

edit: Works well. There is a "Fancy Background" option that needs to be unchecked for full transparency to come through (it appears to be a "fill layer"). Needs a text layer, needs a way to close the app (doesn't close with back button).

Yes, a really nice app, thank you for the tip :)

It exports as PNG and JPG.

Did for a test a drawing on transparent background and put the .jpg picture as annotation in a PDF doc :)
ezPDF Reader has this annotation feature after its last update.

Glad you guys are enjoying Canvas!

The Fancy Background is purely a cosmetic setting, so the issue that tcat007 found is likely a bug.

Also, you can close the app with the "X" button on the operations tab at the bottom right corner, though on smaller screens it may possibly be cutoff.
