does anyone know of a free/low cost photo editing program (either software or online) thats comparable to photoshop? looking to get creative with my photos i have and want to take....

TIA!!

Just a note on these - Gimp is definitely the more feature filled of the two, but it's also harder to learn to use than Sumo (IMO). And there are many video tutorials on the use of both on Youtube (& elsewhere, I'm sure). Just give me a shout if you have any questions.

Good luck & have fun!

i was playing with sumo for a few on work computer but gimp i have to wait til i get home to fully check it out. plus most of the photos i want to play with are on my laptop

I'd look into the GimpShop set, it's gimp, but made to look like photoshop. I have never actually used it, but I've been meaning to get it running (i've always just stuck with regular boring gimp)

But yeah, gimp ftw.

IF you don't have the money for Photoshop, use GIMP.

Keep in mind though, Photoshop is superior is pretty much every way, and if you have a .edu email address they'll give you a pretty good discount on the software.

sadly i dont, but i have heard that before. they also have discounts for the Microsoft Office products

M.S. paint....I'm old school and that's how I roll....

haha thats what i use for cropping/resizing. but i want to learn how to do the black and white photos with the one color singled out.

Pangolin? How could they miss such a 'Linuxy' opportunity for using Precise Penguin?!

But, I suppose a pangolin is a pretty cool animal too.

err... wrong thread, I swear this was a browser error, and that the problem was not between keyboard and monitor, but I'd probably be lying.

Back on topic of photo software, I like IrfanView in windows, it's not too bad. good for viewing pictures, and making slight changes to them.
