photo editing with Oneplus One

Received my new Oneplus One a few days ago. Generally I am very happy. I went from a Nexus 5. Switching phones takes some time to adjust. The Nexus 5 is a very good phone as well. I like the rubber material that coats the Nexus 5.

I am a meat and potatoes kind of guy, over 50. The CyanogenMod does not appeal to me and I would wish I could just easily switch to stock Android. Especially with the new Android L coming soon. I know this can be done but I am not capable of doing that sort of thing. Wish they had an opt out feature build it. I do not need all these fancy looking skins. The only feature I really like is the double tap to activate the phone.

The camera is good but I can not find a way to crop the photos. I read online that one has to use Google + and Picasa to have a cropping function. I do not like the way Google tries to ram that Google + down my throat all the time. I want nothing to do with it. But it seems to be imbedded in the operating system. From what I read Google + has been a failure.

I have downloaded photo editing software just to crop my photos. But I should not have to do this. I would rather have a cropping function that all the fancy skins.

Has anyone found a way to crop without using another photo software suite? Thanks

Actually, as long as Google+ is installed, the stock Gallery app will use its features to crop & edit photos. That's what I do, and I don't have a Google+ account. You may be able to find the stock Kit Kat gallery on Google Play which crops as well.

Also, if you don't like the Hexo skin and want stock Android, just go to Settings > Themes > Theme packs and change it from Hexo to "Holo (default)" which will look pretty much like stock Android.

BTW, below is a link to OnePlus's official AOSP ROM, which is basically stock Android, not CM11S.

CafeKampuchia you helped me a lot. I have since deleted that third party photo editing software and am now editing photos as you described. I miss Cambodia. Lived in Phnom Penh for a while. Love the coffee and food.

Kolio I will just leave the phone as is. I think it just takes a period of time to get used to the phone. Thanks again.
