This is by far the craziest thing I've seen on a phone.
I will try to be clear but no guarantees...
My wife has an LG MS500 (Optimus F6) with a 4gb SD card and a couple gb internal storage.
Out of nowhere tonight she says she is getting "low memory" and "storage space running out" messages at the top. She wasn't doing anything, installing apps etc.
I find in her gallery, an album with 3,182 pictures that was never there before.
I looked and they are photos from our PC that we have uploaded from our phones TO the PC.
I went to delete the album, no delete option. I went into the album to select them to delete, no delete option. A long press on an individual picture gives a download or details option. Long press on the album gives a details option.
There is an option to download for individual pictures and that's it. I tried it just to see....
It started downloading all of them to the phone (with no storage left) again to a gallery it created which has become a nightmarish loop in itself. But I digress...
It looks like this was done with SmartShare, I just noticed the icon at the bottom corner of the album. I've never used SmartShare.
The album name is that of my PC, TERM1: Dad-O:
HOW it was done is a mystery. Her phone has not been plugged into our pc for at least a month.
I went into the main gallery screen where it would show all the albums. (I took all existing pictures/albums off the phone. So now if I try to export pictures to the PC, it doesn't find anything at all like they're not there.) That album remains. If I go the bottom of that main gallery screen, I hit delete and it brings up the option to check the box of the albums to delete. Except that one, its grayed out for that...
The phone is rooted so I used ES File Explorer to try and find the pictures or album. There is nothing in ANY folder, internal hd or external SD card.
I tried going in through the USB to pc route so I could see the internal storage and external card clearly. Folder by folder, its like the album and pictures are non-existent. They do not show up ANYWHERE to delete.
I even checked file sizes of every folder, one by one and internal and SD card, to see if there was one that was 2gb. Closest was 716mb and those were apps.
Phone has been power cycled. Took the battery out etc. Any other info needed, I will provide ASAP. Im sure I have left out some pertinent details, but its only because I have no clue what they would be.
I am stumped and in a heap of shi7 with my wife....Evidently for simply being the guy that MAY get it fixed. So if anyone has even the slightest idea of where I should start looking, I am begging, please.
Thanks for your time and patience.
Great site!
