Photos issue

What photo app are you using? If the stock, try another app, Like goog photos, to see if the same issue occurs.
When I look at the photos and images in the samsung gallery, they are in order—even the video files. I have a mix of SD card and internal storage and they are all showing in order (there is a time stamp and the files appear under the different time stamps).
What phone was the sad card in before?
What carrier are you on and is your note 9 unlocked or locked to the carrier?
If you take photos using the phone, do they sho up in order ?

did you just pop the card out of the note 8 and put it in the note 9? did you use smartswitch or some backup to transfer files and stuff over?

I just put the sd card in the new phone. So I had the s9 plus and only had the note 8 for a week before getting the note 9 so I had that issue on both notes but no other phones. I'm gonna try put Google photos and see what happens although I think I tried that.
I did use Samsung smart switch but unchecked for videos and photos to be transferred bc I use the sd card

when you take photos (if you have not , just take some random ones) do they stay in order?
i am at a loss as to why you are seeing that. looking at the stock samsung gallery app, the photos i see are normal: newest up top and oldest photos/videos/files as you scroll down.
maybe if your time on the phone was incorrect? that's a stretch though since you say ALL of your photos are out of order.
maybe a call into samsung tech?
