Hi welcome to Android Forums. All you need to do is press on the picture from your text for about three seconds (this is called long pressing), it should give you the option to save to your gallery.
Otherwise, when you open the picture, if you press your settings button you will be given the opportunity to save the picture there. I hope this helps you out.
