Just got my razr lastnight and I'm pretty impressed with it so far. Haven't had any of the problems I've seen others have had so hopefully I have a good one.

you have to keep in mind that 99% of people who bought the razr aren't going to online communities for solutions to phone problems; they typically go back to the store for help/exchange. and for every person on here reporting an issue with their phone, there are countless others who have no issues. the vast majority of these phones are fine working units but there's no way to prevent a small minority of duds making it past QA/QC - it's an inherent part of mass production.
my point is: be aware of the problems that some people are reporting, but don't get paranoid about it (and if the battery life is rough the first few days, give it a week - a lot of us are reporting better battery life after a little break-in period.)
