Picture download help needed

Tony0629

I have received pictures in an email. When I click on the picture it shows downloaded. My question is, downloaded where? The pic is not in Photos or Gallery. Any help is appreciated.

In your gallery, look for an album called 'downloads' the pictures should be there. If your pictures are sorted by most recent, have in mind that the received pictures might have an older date and therefore won't show under most recent.

If you still can't find them, try this:

Open your file manger and look for a folder called 'downloads' the images should be there. If they're there, then go to your file manager settings, and select 'show hidden files' then go back to your downloads folder and look for a file called .nomedia if you have that, delete it and your pictures should appear. If they don't, then restart your phone.

Thank you but I cannot find a File Manager on my Note 8. I downloaded one from Google Play but it does not find any of the files you mentioned.

This doesn't help you find the download but the file manager is most likely inside the Samsung folder in your app draw. It should be called My Files.

Right just sent myself a couple of photo and had a play. On my s8 it seems a bit random where they show up. Some show up in the gallery with today's date but others show up in the gallery with the original taken date. Maybe the Note 8's the same.

Where does it say 'downloaded' is it as soon as you try opening the picture? Does the picture actually open up, or does it just say downloaded?

If the picture actually opens up, i would suggest you press on the three dots menu and download again. If there is no download option, look for a 'details' or 'more info' option and press on it. See what the file path is. The pictures should show up when following the file path. Also check your Google drive, there is a possibility that they are downloading to there

Look for an app usually in the Samsung folder called My Files, then click Downloads. Should be there. If not, it may be in your SD card in Downloads
