Help Picture fixed?

tears123

Newbie
I am on 2.1 and the picture displayed when making a phone call is very fuzzy.

Does anybody know if there is a fix for it?

Thanks

I tried the link you posted but i am still having the problem.

The sync is off on my phone.

So the picture of the contact is blurry or the number itself on the screen?

If it is the picture then try and create a new contact with a high quality pic or change the picture to a quality pic.

I used the same pictures as when I was on 1.6 but still i get blurry pictures. This is weird

Thanks beau420

It may have optimized and compressed the image. Try and reset it to see if it changed.

On 1.6 the pic was smaller for me than on 2.1. I noticed for one of my contacts the pic looked really pixelated after the upgrade. I changed the pic to exactly the same image, but it looks clearer after I reset it.

i have the same issue. i uncheck contact sync, yet it did not help. the pic was taken with my x10 with the highest setting, so quality should be high. the picture looks fine when i tap on the contact, however when calling the contact, the pic is definitely very blurry.

I also have this problem and i never synced any contacts and ive change the pic with no deference?

somehow, the caller id pic seems to be stretched, thus making it blurry. it's almost like using a picture as wallpaper where it stretches to fix across all five screens

I have one more idea. My pictures are also blurry (doesn't matter for me), and I sync all contacts with GMail. I've created new contact yesterday and phone asked me, if it's GMail contact or just phone contact (not synchronized). Maybe if you try to add new contact as "phone only", it can use bigger pictures?

It looks like it compresses the image as a type of thumbnail or something and attaches it to the contact. I notice if I choose a black and white image it looks pretty good....or an image with not too many colours. If I chose a high quality +5mb pic it definitely compresses it and makes it pretty blurry.

So, really the best way to fix it is to choose a better image.

For the phone to load a huge ass image everytime you get a phone call must be the reasoning behind it.

It would be nice to know exactly how many pixels by how many pixels and what image type (JPG or PNG or TIFF or what) would be best to choose?

But so far....small colour pallets (not many colours....black and white with a bunch of greys) have made my contact images look pretty clear....but to me it appears the blurriness is by design, not a problem.
