Help Picture quality is lowered in "Photos" app

Hi,

I have been using Nexus 4 for past 3 years. Recently I noticed that the quality of the pictures when viewed from "Photos" app (Android version 5.1) is considerably low. But the same picture when viewed from some other third party apps like 'Cymera' looks better in quality, and when viewed from a PC looks even better. Not sure if it is a generic issue or specific to my phone. Your inputs in this regard is appreciated.

Hi

If you have your photos set to automatically upload to google photos, have you also set them to be re-sized to less than 2048x2048 and therefore not use up storage space with google (you can store photos smaller than this without using allocated space). Its a setting in the photos app. Top left burger button, then menu button, settings, auto backup. This would explain why your copies in photos are of lower quality..
