Hello all...
I am an EVO own on Sprint so forgive my intrusion
but I am posting this message on behalf of my parents who are both Droid 2 Global user with Verizon and are suffering from the same problem. They are not rooted.
It seems that ever since the last OTA update that they installed (not sure what version...they live 1000 miles away from me...but whatever 2.3.x Gingerbread you guys are currently on I would imagine) their text picture...MMS...is messed up. If they receive MMS pictures, the little thumbnail picture that appears in the message list shows a picture previously received but when you tap on the "new" picture that was sent the CORRECT picture if seen correctly. The correct picture is received but the image/thumbnail associated with the newly received picture is WRONG...it shows the image of a previously received MMS picture.
If the "wrong" picture appearing in the thumbnail is deleted from message list, the most recent picture received then takes on the image of ANOTHER PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED photo, again the wrong one!!
I believe my parents are experiencing this problem CONSTANTLY if not, at least, "much more often than not."
My father went to his local Verizon store where they replicated the problem. The Verizon rep never saw it before and then did a backup and factory reset of the phone. That seemed to be working, however, about an hour after leaving the store (of course
!!) the problem came back! To me that indicates a possible bug in the app rather than some sort or cache/data issue with the phone.
Has anyone else experienced this or know what the problem is?? Is it a known issue/bug with a fix?? I am seeing my parents in a couple weeks and was thinking of putting o ChompSMS or another third party app to see if that fixes the issue and was wondering if anyone has had any success with that as a fix??
