Picture Wallpaper

I have a picture that I took and I set it as my wallpaper I, it told me to crop it, but when I did it makes the faces way to close and cuts me out. I even tried cutting myself out purposely and just have my husband as my background, but it still way to zoomed in how do you get it to where it look like a normal picture as the wallpaper?
