Pictures and Video to gallery

Greeting to all.

I am brand new to the forum and am not very technical, so please accept my apologies for what might be a stupid questions. I have a Motorola MB520 phone using Android 2.2.1. My issue is that every time I look at a pic from an email that my friends send, it ends up in the Gallery. While I don't have a problem with it, some of them are not appropriate for my kids to see. I try to delete them, but then I cannot see them in the email. How do I keep the pictures and video from ending up in the Gallery? Is there some sort of way to change the default on the phone?

Any help would be appreciated.

Red Rocker.

Not sure what you can do to stop the pictures being included in the gallery. Once they're there though, if you tap the picture in the gallery you should get a delete option.

You may find that the e-mail pictures are put into the downloads folder. You should have shortcut to this in your app drawer. If you run this, you will see everything downloaded to your phone and be able to delete things you'd rather your kids didn't see.

Alternatively, you could use a file manager (get these from the Play Store - I use a free one called File Manager) to delete the files.

Thanks for the reply. I am using a app called Keep Safe which is password protected, so I think it will do the job. I just found the forum on a search and thought I would ask.

On another note, this phone is old and getting slow and will freeze on me a lot. I usually only use it for texts, check email and occasional picture or video of the kids doing their sports stuff. Is there a newer phone that you would recommend? I was looking at the Nokia Lumia, but I have not had to pay for a phone in a while.

If this question belongs somewhere else, please feel free to move it. I am not much of a tech guy so any info would be great.

Thanks again.
