Help Pictures saved or emailed rotate to landscape

I have been pretty happy with my Razr Maxx HD, everything functions pretty well. I noticed that all my portrait pictures being taken rotate to landscape if they are emailed or saved to my PC. I have been in contact with MOTO with no answer, and on the phone with VZW no help.

If I take a portrait photo with HDR mode or in 6mp setting then you can email them to people and they keep the picture orientation, but if you take the same pic with out HDR then they can not be rotated back to portrait if moved to any other device.

You can how ever open the pic up and then edit it in PAINT, but who wants to do that to all of the pics you take...Not me.

it may be the way you are holding the phone.

if i hold mine in landscape the pictures are rotated.

if i hold it in portrait, they are normal. but thats with a galaxy nexus. try it by holding it different ways.

In speaking with VZW and MOTO again, you have to cut back the mega pixels to 6 or shoot everythign in HDR mode for them to transfer normally...What a piece of crap.

I'm not having this issue with my phone, and I literally just tested it out. 8mp picture no HDR, emailed to myself. Still portrait on my PC.

Do you have windows XP? What are you viewing it with? Here at my house I have Windows 7 and a HP laptop. It corrects the photo and leaves it in portrait, but my work pc has XP and 3 other family members do...all 3 have the same issue of the pics being in landscape

Thanks for trying !!!

By the way I downloaded the Camera ICS and have it set at 8mp and it works just fine. It leaves it in portrait

Windows 7 64bit here. That's pretty strange though. I don't have anything else that I can test it on, but I haven't heard a single complaint from anyone I've emailed pictures to so far. I just viewed on it gmail, then downloaded it and viewed it with window's built in image browser. Thanks for posting that camera ics works, I'll keep that in mind should someone mention it to me.
