Pieced System

There was another title I had in mind for this creation but, its a family show.

Making a long story short, I needed to build a system on the cheap, really cheap. Cheap as in whatever is laying around the house cheap.

I rummaged through 2 areas of the house where old bits of comp were gathering dust. This is what I'm running atm ...and damn is it freakin slow.

The shell of a many year old Medion computer with a ThermalTake 430W PS
Mainboard unknown, whoever made MBs for Medion.
P4 2.8GHz w/HT
1GB RAM
nVidia 5200 128MB PCI-E video (one of the first PCI-E btw)
20GB (yup) Maxtor Ultra 66 ATA
built-in sound, LAN, oh dear...
20.5" LG Flatron LCD 1600x1050
Logitech K120 keybo
MS 3500 Wireless mouse
Running Mint 11 32bit

If it helps any, I can piece together a P200 system with those same dual 20 GB 7200rpm drives....um, 32 (?) MB of RAM lol....

That's the system I first started playing with FC 2 on ....

The Maxtor 20GB 5400rpm Ultra66 from Dec 2000 was suffering. I replaced it with a WD Black 1TB SATA3. things are a little faster but the system still lags. Google maps jumps and refreshes around like F117 Stealth fighter did on my i386 22 years ago: 1FPS !.
