Ping Guardian

From the writeup I'm guessing it pings from point A to point B on your network regularly, and sends you an email if there's no ping response. It's part of a system to assure that the network hasn't gone down. Unless you're administering a large network, it's not an app you'd have any use for. (Most people are almost instantly aware if their home networks go down - they don't need apps to tell them.)
