Pixel 2: How to use Google Assistant

Google Assistant is one of the headlining features of the Pixel phones. There are a couple of different ways to use Assistant. First, set it up.

1. Long-press the home button or say "Ok Google"
2. Tap Turn on when Assistant pops up
3. You will be guided through the setup

To use Assistant, you can long-press the home button, say "Ok Google," or squeeze the phone. When Assistant pops up, simply speak a command or tap the keyboard icon to type.

You can choose talk or type to be the default method.

1. Long-press the home button.
2. Tap the blue menu icon in the top corner
3. Select Settings > Phone > Preferred input
4. Choose "Voice" or "Keyboard"
