Pixel 2 sound issues

Hi, I've had my new Pixel 2 for three days, and the sound does not seem as deep and bassi as my iPhone SE. I'm wondering if there is a fault or if that's just how it is. Has any one had similar issues?

Every phones audio will differ from each manufacturer, there's no setting to change that, other than an equalizer when playing music.

Ok thanks for your response.
During calls the sound also seems to be a bit light weight compared to iPhone SE and 6s+. Maybe that's just the way it is. Just hope mines not faulty!

I've never used an SE so can't compare. Earpiece sound in calls is fine to me - I wouldn't call it thin or light. Speakers aren't terribly bassy, but they are small phone speakers at the end of the day. They work for ringing and the occasional hands-free call, which is all I'd ever use them for anyway - I'd use headphones for anything where quality mattered, and while I normally use a HTC headphone adapter I don't recall the Google one lacking bass.

As Danny says, you can always use an equaliser to the adjust sound profiles to your tastes.

That's great, many thanks. I'm new to android, just wondered what do you mean by an equaliser? Is this an app from the play store?

Music apps will often have a graphical equaliser, which allows you to adjust gain as a function of frequency (rather than the old basic bass and treble controls, though they may have them too if you prefer). They usually come with some pre-set profiles as well as letting you adjust to taste.

I just had a little play with the presets in PowerAmp (my most-used music player) while playing a few things through the speakers, and certainly it made a difference to the sound (even if in the end I turned it off again - in any event my headphones have a different response to the speakers, and they matter more to me).
