Pixel 4a leaks! A great looking phone!

Typical Google, we suspect all details of phone will be leaked well before it comes out, but we are just now getting details. Obviously take these with a grain of salt, but here you go!

We also get to see the camera app in action just for a moment, which is in the 12-megapixel flavor. It’s not clear if this is the same main sensor as found in the Pixel 4 and 4 XL though. TecnoLike confirms that 4K video recording will be possible but does not mention potential framerates — although we’d expect it to be capped at 30fps."

If they release a version with more storage (how often have I said that about Google?) that's actually quite an appealing phone. Reminds me a lot of the Galaxy s10e from the front (my favourite of the s10 series), and TBH plastic back, fingerprint scanner, headphone jack are all upgrades over the Pixel 4 as far as I'm concerned (as is not having an unbalanced forehead to fit a gimmick scanner). As I'm not a gamer I can't actually see any respect where the regular Pixel 4 would be better than me, except that I couldn't live with a downgrade to 64GB (I'm using about 80GB currently).

Of course my Pixel 2 is still working fine at the moment, but I always like to know what I'd replace it with if it failed or got broken. If there is a higher-capacity model this could well be it.

128 should just be standard at this point fwiw.

But yea, my Pixel 3 was more than adequate, but little things had started annoying me. I'd welcome the more RAM for sure.

They are, can't deny. The size is decent, but yes, I would prefer a bigger one, especially if only 1 size being made. Battery isn't horrible, considering the specs, so I imagine it getting halfway decent battery life.

Anyone who wants a 75mm-wide phone has a huge range of options to choose from. We don't need more manufacturers offering large phones and nothing else.

It doesn't make sense to not offer at least a 6.0 in. option with bigger battery, as with the 3a XL. If anything, get rid of the smaller version, because I believe sales for the XL were quite a bit higher.

Non-XL is the right size for me. Oversized phones are perfect for people who need to compensate.

I don't even know what 6.0" means any more - there are so many different screen shapes out there that the diagonal doesn't mean anything unless you also specify the aspect ratio (e.g. the Xperia 5 is a 6.1" screen, but that's because it's a very tall 21:9, while curved edges allow manufacturers to claim larger screen sizes without giving you as much extra area as the number implies). So I pretty much ignore that and look at the device dimensions. This one's expected to come in at just under 70mm width, which is tolerable. Every extra mm impacts usability, so personally I'll stick with the 5.8". Google's XL phones are of no interest whatsoever to me.

Ok. If, like the 3a, the options are a slightly smaller screen with smaller battery, or a slightly larger one with a much larger battery, I bet battery life wins out for the vast majority of people, and that's what Google should be catering to.

I don't think only. Again, guessing, but it would be a travesty if there wasn't at least an option for 128gb. But this is google, so who knows.

As for screen talk, with the right aspect ration, I absolutely want a bigger one. My S20 Plus is 6.7 (i think) and in the hand it is same size as my Pixel 3XL, which I believe is 6.3, mostly due to bezels and such.
I'd be interested in 1 model if the size was more in-between the 2, call it 6.0 maybe

I've used LCDs and AMOLEDs, and don't get this "AMOLED good, LCD bad" stuff. I've seen good and bad examples of both, both have their pros and cons. For me that's not an issue - I'll judge on the individual screen (my current phone is OLED by the way, but that wasn't a factor in the choice).

Storage is my main concern, because Google have a long history of aiming low in this respect. But maybe if the rumoured 5g version is real they'll put more storage in that? At least the "starting from" in the price leak is promising, as that implies more than one model.

Have to agree here. Even offering 64gb on the regular 4 is a travesty. NO WAY that should be an option on a "flagship". On for the budget line, better have an option with more storage.
