Pixel charging speeds

Google clarifies Pixel charging speeds, 5" Pixel peaks at 15 watts, only XL can do 18W.
Google has fixed the detail on the website which now reads: “15W – 18W charging” where It previously read: “18W charging”.

The battery only charges at top speed for a limited amount of time. It slows considerably when it starts to near 80-85% capacity. A 3W difference on different sized batteries is probably barely going to be noticeable on charge time to full.

The claims of 70% in 15mins are rubbish as well.

I've had my xl plugged in to the mains using the supplied cables for 40mins so far and it has gone from 50% to 81%. Hmm...

I thought the claim was that it would charge enough for 7 hours of standby in 15 minutes, not that it would charge a certain percent in that time.

I've seen 70% reported in various (sketchy) blogs, so I assume some "journalist" got confused and then everyone else parroted him without checking the facts for themselves.

Oh. Well I guess this makes sense but is definitely annoying compared to what I heard!

Even so, half an hour connected to mains should be enough to get through a night out. Fingers crossed any way!

Mine charge much faster than that. Last time I paid attention to it, I got almost 30% charge in 15 minutes. (That's with the phone screen off and left alone)
