place on device for doc

In my subject I meant to say a place on the SD card not device -sorry.

Windows has Files and folders as we know so we can save to device or external media.

Android, as in my Galaxy S5, has only cloud doc storage to my knowledge. I would like to save my docs to my SD card now that we can write to it, but have had no luck.
Polaris doesn't work for me as hard as I have tried to work with it.
The MS Office for Android only saves to cloud as does drive.
The closest I have come is to save as a draft to an email program which is quite a stretch.
Most programs I have used have not updated their software from KitKat restricted thinking to Lollipop 5.0 which releases those permissions and now we can write to the card.
Is there a suite or program that allows one to save docs to the SD card?

AFAIK you have to set the app to have control over the folder you want to save to. The only change in Lollipop that allowed saving to SD cards was that the permissions was made user editable. So before you can use any app to save to SD card, you have to make a folder with permissions for that app to edit. Let's wait for someone more knowledgeable on the situation.

Try WPS Office, that has no problems making and using a "docs" directory on an SD card, even with Kitkat or Lollipop.

I'm sure Google Docs and MS Office for Android, are primarily intended for cloud usage and have to be on-line, that's what I found with them.

I tried WPS but cannot remember why I did not use it. I'll give it a second look.

**Importantly could someone explain what ChanChan05 is referring to because I did not know one had to do anything with permissions or folders. It could really make a huge difference in my ability to use the phone properly. He has requested some help so please someone jump in!!
