Which is recommended for the android i.e. LG Optimus L9
$40, $50, or $60 monthly plan?

I want to buy a phone for my birthday and it will be my first time paying a bill. So which one would be better for me?

Happy birthday, looks like a great present for yourself. As far as plans go, I would check out T-Mobile's Data Usage Calculator.

The more you plan to use your phone, the more data you are going to want. Also, if you want to upgrade your phone more quickly, you could add the JUMP plan for an extra $10/month.

It really depends on you and what you can afford. Obviously paying more will get you more, but will you really use all that data?
