Plastic cover over camera lens?

In the user manual for the Galaxy S7, it states "Note: Prior to using the camera, remove the plastic
protective covering from the camera lens." I have examined the lens and don't see a plastic cover. Does it really exist? If so, how do you remove it? I did see some videos on the Galaxy S6 for this, but I don't see the plastic. I carefully dug around the lens with my finger nail and didn't find anything.

There isn't any plastic over the lens. I've even taken a lot of pictures and there's nothing that's distorting the image.

There was a small thin piece of plastic over my camera lens.

When you first got the phone, was the carton sealed or already opened?

There was plastic film on my camera too but with cutout in the middle so it doesn't effect the picture.
