adventure/platforming
Rayman 1 (the 2d style)
Crash Bandicoot
Captain Claw (very underrated)
Turn-based strategy
advance wars (one of the best gameboy advance/ds games out there)
Heroes of Might and Magic (esp. Heroes 3) (one of the very best pc games)
