Play a DVD with an Android stick

Hello all,
I've looked around and found no info on this, is there a way to play a DVD, using an external DVD player connected to an Android stick or tablet?
I know I can rip a DVD into a video file but that takes time and hard disk space.
In fact I replaced my multimedia PC by an Android stick, it works better and less power consumption, but I'm still missing a way to play my DVDs.

What I can find mentions specific tabs though as opposed to Android sticks. Does the stick have USB OTG?

Well, I also found those references, but they are pretty much the only type of solution I found. And searching deeper I found plenty of people complaining that this solution was not working for them. Which means it only works with some types of tablets or android sticks, in certain conditions, etc. Not a reliable solution.
It is amazing that someone didn't come up with a good solution for this...! Hey Google, where are you? Or is it the end of DVDs and we are supposed to switch to multimedia files?
Well, I'll keep looking. If someone finds it please let me know!

Sorry mate, conflict of interest, We really want you to buy your movies from our Play Store. But if a manufacturer wishes to add DVD support to their tablets and sticks, we have no problem with that.

Google doesn't actually make any money directly from Android, they give that away to anyone who wishes to make an Android device. And they're free to add any functions or features as they see fit, like DVD playback. Google makes their money by selling you things from their Play Store like apps, games, movies, TV shows, music, books, etc. as well as serving you advertisements. Microsoft on the other hand makes their money by selling you an operating system, Windows, so you can use your multimedia PC. Which does include a DVD player, as well as things like Media Center.

You'll never find DVD playback capabilities on a Nexus device, because that's Google's own baby and they want you to use their services. It's something you might find on some of the Chinese devices though, basically because Google doesn't have much to do with Android here, and Google doesn't sell movies here either.
