Play only MP3s in a folder / directory?

Does anyone know of an app or method to play only the MP3s in a specific folder or directory?

I have a few audio book MP3s on my phone and a random shuffle is rather annoying. Sooner or later the audio book MP3s start playing as a song.

I found a few posts from last year which basically said "yeah, this can't be done on Android."

Say it ain't so. Is this really where the road ends with this device?

Check out PowerAMP. It's a great media player, includes a bunch of equalizer presets, and you can pick and choose what directories it will scan for music.
