playing mp3 files from SD card on tablet

Hi,

I recently bought a Sony Tablet S and I'm facing some problems in playing mp3 files.

When I store the files in the internal memory of the tablet, everyting works fine using either the built-in Music Player or when using some other apps such as Winamp, Doubletwist, etc.

Since the internal storage capacity is fairly limited, I moved my mp3 files to a 32Gb SD card.
The problem is that none of the mp3 player apps installed on my tablet offer the possibility to play the files directly from the SD card. The apps simply don't see the SD card.
However, when I use the File ManagerHD app from Rhythm Software to look at the content of the SD card, I can select and play the mp3 files one by one.
I tried the same with video files and have the same issue there.

Does anyone have an idea why the player apps don't see the SD card and how this can be fixed?

Tablets differ from phones in that aspect. The mount point for the sd card on a phone is usually /sdcard but in a tablet that mount point is the internal memory. The sd card on a tablet is usually mounted at /sd-ext so thats where the media players need to look to find it. Some players, like PowerAmp, will let you choose the path to your media in the options or settings. Try looking through the settings of your media player apps to see if you have that option, that should get you taken care of.
